Da folket så at Moses drøyde med å komme ned fra fjellet, samlet de seg rundt Aron og sa: «Kom, lag oss en gud som kan gå foran oss. For denne Moses, mannen som førte oss opp fra landet Egypt, vet vi ikke hva som har hendt med ham.»

2 Aron sa til dem: «Ta av de gulløredobbene som konene, sønnene og døtrene deres har på seg, og bring dem til meg.»

3 Så tok hele folket av seg gulløredobbene sine og brakte dem til Aron.
