12 Så befalte kongen Hilkia, presten, Ahikam, sønn av Sjafan, Akbor, sønn av Mika, Sjafan, skriveren, og Asaja, kongens tjener, og sa,

13 "Gå, spør Herren for meg, og for folket, og for hele Juda angående ordene i denne boken som er funnet— for stor er Herrens vrede som brenner mot oss, fordi våre fedre ikke lyttet til ordene i denne boken, for å gjøre i samsvar med alt som er skrevet om oss."

Så gikk Hilkia, presten, Ahikam, Akbor, Sjafan og Asaja til Hulda, profetinnen, hustru til Sjallum, sønn av Tikva, sønn av Harhas, garderobevokteren (nå bodde hun i Jerusalem i den andre bydelen), og de talte til henne.

15 Og hun sa til dem, "Dette sier Herren, Israels Gud: ‘Si til mannen som sendte dere til meg,

16 "Dette sier Herren:
Se, jeg bringer ulykke over dette stedet og dets innbyggere,
alle ordene i boken som Judas konge har lest.
