1 Forsvar meg, Gud, og før min sak mot et folk uten gudsfrykt;
Redd meg fra den svikefulle og urettferdige personen!

For Du er min tilflukts Gud; hvorfor har Du forkastet meg?
Hvorfor går jeg omkring i sorg på grunn av fiendens undertrykkelse?

3 Send ut Ditt lys og Din sannhet, de skal lede meg;
De skal føre meg til Din hellige høyde
Og til Dine boliger.

4 Da vil jeg nærme meg Guds alter,
Til Gud, min største glede;
Og jeg vil prise Deg med lyren, Gud, min Gud.
