1 Jeg elsker Herren, for han lytter
Til min røst og mine bønner.

2 Siden han har vendt sitt øre mot meg,
Vil jeg derfor påkalle ham alle mine dager.

Dødens snarer omringet meg
Og gravens redsler overmannet meg;
Jeg møtte nød og sorg.

4 Da påkalte jeg Herrens navn:
“Vær så snill, Herre, bevar mitt liv!”

5 Herren er nådig og rettferdig;
Ja, vår Gud er full av medfølelse.
