Egypt

19 De laget en kalv ved Horeb,
og tilba et støpt bilde.

20 De byttet bort sin ære
mot bildet av en okse som eter gress.

De glemte Gud, sin frelser,
som hadde gjort store ting i Egypt,

22 undergjerninger i Kams land,
og forferdelige ting ved Rødehavet.

23 Derfor sa han at han ville ødelegge dem,
hadde ikke Moses, hans utvalgte, stått fram for ham i gapet,
for å vende hans vrede bort fra å ødelegge dem.
