1 Kong Ahasverus la skatt på landet og øyene i havet.
Alle hans mektige og sterke gjerninger, sammen med en omfattende beretning om Mordekais storhet, som kongen hedret, er de ikke nedskrevet i Krønikerboken for kongene i Media og Persia?
3 Mordekai, jøden, var nest etter kong Ahasverus, aktet blant jødene og høyt ansett av sine mange slektninger, ettersom han søkte sitt folks beste og talte for hele nasjonens velferd.
