1 Gud, vi har hørt med våre ører,
Våre fedre har fortalt oss
Om det verk Du gjorde i deres dager,
I de gamle dager.

Med Din mektige hånd drev Du ut folkeslagene og grunnla våre forfedre;
Du plaget folkene og satte dem fri.

3 For med sitt eget sverd vant de ikke landet,
Og sin egen arm frelste dem ikke,
Men Din høyre hånd og Din arm og lyset fra Ditt åsyn,
For Du hadde behag i dem.

4 Du er min konge, Gud;
Gi Jakob seier.
