1 Joasj var syv år gammel da han begynte å regjere, og han regjerte i førti år i Jerusalem; hans mor var Sibja fra Be’er-Sjeba.

Joasj handlet rett i Herrens øyne gjennom hele livet til presten Jojada.

3 Jojada ordnet to ekteskap for ham, og han ble far til sønner og døtre.

4 Etter disse hendelsene besluttet Joasj å gjenopprette Herrens tempel.
