11 Og han fjernet hestene som Judas konger hadde gitt til solen, ved inngangen til Herrens hus, ved kammeret til Natan-Melek, embetsmannen, som var i tilbygget; og han brente solens vogner med ild.

12 Altrene som var på taket, det øvre kammeret til Akas, som Judas konger hadde laget, og altrene som Manasse hadde laget i de to forgårdene til Herrens hus, rev kongen ned; og han knuste dem der og kastet deres støv i bekken Kidron.

De høye stedene som var foran Jerusalem, som var på høyre side av ødeleggelsens fjell som Salomo, Israels konge, hadde bygd for Astarte, sidonernes styggedom, for Kamosj, Moabs styggedom, og for Milkom, Ammonittenes styggedom, vanhelliget kongen.

14 Han knuste også minnesteinene, hogg ned Asjeraene, og fylte deres steder med menneskeben.

15 Dessuten, alteret som var i Betel og det høye stedet som Jeroboam, Nebats sønn, som førte Israel til synd, hadde laget, selv det alteret og det høye stedet rev han ned. Så rev han ned steinene, malte dem til støv, og brente Asjeraen.
