BalaamIsrael

1 På den dagen, da Moseboken ble lest høyt for folket, ble det oppdaget at ingen ammonitt eller moabitt noen gang skulle bli tatt opp i Guds forsamling,

fordi de ikke møtte israelittene med brød og vann, men i stedet leide Bileam til å forbanne dem. Men vår Gud gjorde forbannelsen om til en velsignelse.

3 Da de hørte denne loven, utelukket de alle av fremmed avstamning fra Israel.

4 Før dette hadde presten Eljasjib, som var satt over lagerrommene i vår Guds hus, et nært forhold til Tobia,
