19 Men da Johannes irettesatte landsfyrsten Herodes på grunn av Herodias, hans brors hustru, og for alle de andre onde tingene han hadde gjort,

20 la Herodes til dette til sine misgjerninger: han satte Johannes i fengsel.

Da hele folket ble døpt, ble også Jesus døpt. Og mens han ba, åpnet himmelen seg,
