39 På den tiden brøt Maria opp og skyndte seg til en by i fjellene i Judea,

40 hvor hun gikk inn i Sakarjas hus og hilste på Elisabet.

Da Elisabet hørte Marias hilsen, rørte barnet seg i hennes liv, og Elisabet ble fylt med Den Hellige Ånd.

42 Med høy røst utbrøt hun, “Velsignet er du blant kvinner, og velsignet er barnet du skal føde!

43 Men hvorfor blir jeg så æret at min Herres mor kommer til meg?
