15 Derfra gikk han opp mot innbyggerne i Debir (tidligere kjent som Kirjat-Sefer).

16 Kaleb sa: "Til den mannen som angriper og inntar Kirjat-Sefer, vil jeg gi min datter Aksa til ekte."

Otniel, sønn av Kenaz, Kalebs bror, inntok den; så Kaleb ga ham sin datter Aksa til ekte.

18 Da hun kom til Otniel, oppfordret hun ham til å be sin far om et jorde. Hun steg av eselet sitt, og Kaleb spurte henne: "Hva vil du?"

19 Hun svarte: "Gi meg en velsignelse. Siden du har gitt meg land i Negev, gi meg også vannkilder." Så ga Kaleb henne de øvre og nedre kildene.
