6 Så erklærte Elihu, sønn av Barakel fra Bus:
“Jeg er ung i år, og dere er gamle;
derfor var jeg blyg og avsto fra å uttrykke mine tanker.

7 Jeg tenkte: ‘La alder tale,
og la mange år gi visdom.’

Men det er ånden i et menneske,
Den Allmektiges pust, som gir forståelse.

9 Det er ikke bare de eldre som er vise,
heller ikke bare de gamle som forstår rettferdighet.

10 Derfor sier jeg: ‘Hør meg ut;
jeg vil også dele det jeg vet.’
