8 "Men du, Israel, min tjener, Jakob, som jeg har utvalgt, etterkommere av Abraham, min venn,

9 Jeg tok deg fra jordens ender og kalte deg fra dens fjerneste deler. Jeg sa: 'Du er min tjener; jeg har utvalgt deg og ikke forkastet deg.

Frykt ikke, for jeg er med deg; vær ikke motløs, for jeg er din Gud. Jeg vil styrke deg og hjelpe deg; jeg vil holde deg oppe med min rettferdige høyre hånd.

11 Alle som er rasende mot deg skal bli til skamme og vanære; de som strider mot deg skal bli som intet og gå til grunne.

12 Selv om du leter etter dine motstandere, vil du ikke finne dem. De som fører krig mot deg skal bli som intet og ikke-eksisterende.
