10 Nå var Sebah og Salmunna i Karkor med omkring femten tusen menn, alt som var igjen av hærene til de østlige folkene; hundre og tjue tusen sverdmenn hadde falt.

11 Gideon dro opp langs nomadenes rute øst for Nobah og Jogbeha og angrep leiren som ikke var forberedt.

Sebah og Salmunna flyktet, men han forfulgte og fanget de to kongene av Midjan, Sebah og Salmunna, og slo hele hæren deres.

13 Gideon, sønn av Joasj, vendte så tilbake fra slaget ved Heres-stigningen.

14 Han fanget en ung mann fra Sukkot og forhørte ham, og den unge mannen skrev ned for ham navnene på de syttisju lederne og eldste i Sukkot.
