Bashan

12 ledet Herren ham alene, og det var ingen fremmed gud med ham.

13 Han lot ham ri på jordens høye steder, og han åt markens grøde; han lot ham suge honning ut av klippen, og olje ut av den harde klippen.

Ost fra buskapen, og melk fra flokken, med fett av lam, og værer av Basans rase, og geiter, med den fineste hvete; og du drakk vin fra druens blod.

15 Men Jesjurun ble velstående og selvtilfreds; du ble fet, tykk og glatt; da forlot han Gud som skapte ham, og spottet sin frelses Klippe.

16 De vakte hans sjalusi med fremmede guder; med avskyelige handlinger gjorde de ham vred.
