5 Bygg et alter for Herren deres Gud der, laget av steiner, og unngå å bruke noe jernverktøy på dem.

6 Bygg alteret for Herren deres Gud med uhugde steiner og ofre brennoffer på det til Herren deres Gud.

Frembær fellesskapsofre der, ta del i dem og gled dere i Herrens deres Guds nærvær.

8 Skriv meget tydelig alle ordene i denne loven på steinene dere har satt opp.

9 Da talte Moses og de levittiske prestene til hele Israel og sa: «Vær stille, Israel, og lytt! I dag har dere blitt Herrens deres Guds folk.
