19 fra Mattana reiste de til Nahaliel, og fra Nahaliel dro de til Bamot,

og fra Bamot til dalen i Moabs land, på toppen av Pisga, som ser ut over ødemarken.

21 Israel sendte sendebud til Sihon, amorittenes konge, og sa:

22 «La oss få passere gjennom ditt land. Vi vil ikke svinge av til åker eller vingård, heller ikke drikke vann fra noen brønn. Vi vil reise langs Kongeveien til vi har passert gjennom ditt område.»
