25 La meg krysse over og se det gode landet bortenfor Jordan—det fine fjellandet og Libanon."

26 Men Herren var vred på meg på grunn av dere og ville ikke høre på meg. "Det er nok," sa Herren. "Ikke tal til meg mer om denne saken.

Gå opp på toppen av Pisga og se vest, nord, sør og øst. Se på landet med dine egne øyne, siden du ikke skal krysse denne Jordan.

28 Men utnevn Josva, og oppmuntre og styrk ham, for han skal lede dette folket over og gjøre det i stand til å arve det landet du vil se."

29 Slik ble vi værende i dalen rett overfor Bet-Peor.
