1 Da kongen hadde slått seg til ro i sitt hus, og Herren hadde gitt ham fred fra alle hans fiender på alle kanter,

sa kongen til profeten Natan: "Se nå, jeg bor i et hus av sedertre, men Guds ark bor innenfor teltgardiner."

3 Natan sa til kongen: "Gå, gjør alt som er i ditt hjerte, for Herren er med deg."

4 Men den natten kom Herrens ord til Natan og sa:
