15 Men da farao så at det var lettelse, forherdet han sitt hjerte og lyttet ikke til Moses og Aron, akkurat som Herren hadde sagt.

16 Da sa Herren til Moses: «Si til Aron: ‘Rekk ut din stav og slå støvet på bakken,’ og det vil bli til mygg over hele landet Egypt.»

De gjorde dette, og da Aron rakte ut sin hånd med staven og slo støvet på bakken, kom det mygg over mennesker og dyr. Alt støvet i hele landet Egypt ble til mygg.

18 Trollmennene forsøkte å frembringe mygg med sine hemmelige kunster, men de kunne ikke. Det var mygg på mennesker og dyr overalt.

19 Trollmennene sa til farao: «Dette er Guds verk.» Men faraos hjerte var hardt, og han ville ikke lytte, akkurat som Herren hadde sagt.
