2. Krønikebok 32,13

11 Lurer ikke Hiskia dere til å overgi dere for å dø av sult og tørst, og sier, "Herren vår Gud vil redde oss fra kongen av Assyrias hånd"?

12 Har ikke den samme Hiskia tatt bort Hans høye steder og Hans altere, og sagt til Juda og Jerusalem, "Dere skal tilbe foran ett alter, og på det skal dere brenne røkelse"?

Vet dere ikke hva jeg og mine fedre har gjort mot alle folkene i landene? Var gudene til nasjonene i landene i stand til å redde sitt land fra min hånd?

14 Hvem var det blant alle gudene til disse nasjonene som mine fedre fullstendig ødela som kunne redde sitt folk fra min hånd, at deres Gud skulle være i stand til å redde dere fra min hånd?

15 Så la ikke Hiskia lure dere eller villede dere på denne måten, og tro ikke på ham, for ingen gud av noen nasjon eller rike har vært i stand til å redde sitt folk fra min hånd eller fra mine fedres hånd. Hvor mye mindre vil deres Gud redde dere fra min hånd?'"
