1. Mosebok 9,4

The law

2 Frykt og redsel for dere skal komme over hvert dyr på jorden og hver fugl under himmelen, over alt som kryper på bakken, og over alle fiskene i havet; de er gitt i deres hender.

3 Alt som lever og rører seg, skal være mat for dere; slik som jeg ga dere de grønne plantene, gir jeg dere nå alt.

Men kjøtt med dets livsblod i seg skal dere ikke spise.

5 Og for deres livsblod vil jeg visselig kreve regnskap; fra hvert dyr vil jeg kreve det. Og fra hvert menneske vil jeg kreve regnskap for et annet menneskes liv.

6 Den som utøser menneskeblod, ved mennesker skal hans blod utøses; for i Guds bilde skapte han mennesket.
