16 Han svarte: "Jeg leter etter mine brødre; kan du fortelle meg hvor de gjeter småfeet?"

17 Mannen sa: "De har dratt videre herfra; jeg hørte dem si: 'La oss dra til Dotan.'" Så Josef dro etter sine brødre og fant dem i Dotan.

Da de så ham på avstand, før han nådde dem, la de planer om å drepe ham.

19 De sa til hverandre: "Her kommer denne drømmeren!

20 Kom nå, la oss drepe ham og kaste ham i en av disse brønnene; vi kan si at et villdyr har fortært ham. Så skal vi se hva som blir av drømmene hans."
