⁸ Du skal befale prestene som bærer paktsarken og si: ‘Når dere når kanten av Jordans vann, skal dere stå stille i Jordan.’”

⁹ Josva talte til israelittene: “Kom hit og hør Herrens, deres Guds, ord.”

Og Josva sa: “Ved dette skal dere vite at den levende Gud er blant dere, og at Han sannelig vil drive ut foran dere kanaaneerne, hetittene, hivittene, perisittene, girgasittene, amorittene og jebusittene.
