10 Men det var Herrens vilje å knuse ham og la ham lide. Når han gir sitt liv som et skyldoffer, skal han se avkom og leve lenge, og Herrens vilje skal ha fremgang ved hans hånd.

11 Etter sin sjels møye skal han se og mettes; ved sin kunnskap skal min rettferdige tjener rettferdiggjøre de mange, og han skal bære deres misgjerninger.

Derfor vil jeg gi ham del med de store, og han skal dele byttet med de sterke, fordi han utøste sitt liv til døden og ble regnet blant overtredere. For han bar manges synd og gikk i forbønn for overtredere.
