Guds nærvær

3 Riv ned deres altere, knus deres hellige steiner, brenn deres Asjera-påler i ilden, og hugg ned de utskårne bildene av deres guder, og utrydd deres navn fra disse stedene.

4 Dere må ikke tilbe Herren deres Gud på deres måte.

I stedet skal dere søke det stedet Herren deres Gud vil velge ut blant alle deres stammer for å sette sitt navn til sin bolig, og dit skal dere gå.

6 Bringe dit deres brennoffer, slaktoffer, tiender, spesielle gaver, lovede offer, frivillige offer og førstefødte av deres buskap og flokker.

7 Der, i Herrens deres Guds nærvær, skal dere og deres husstander spise og glede dere over alt dere har utrettet, fordi Herren deres Gud har velsignet dere.
