11 Men Josjafat sa: "Er det ingen profet for Herren her, som vi kan spørre Herren gjennom?" En av tjenerne til kongen av Israel svarte: "Elisja, Sjafats sønn, er her. Han pleide å helle vann på Elias' hender."

12 Josjafat sa: "Herrens ord er med ham." Så gikk kongen av Israel, Josjafat og kongen av Edom ned til ham.

Elisja sa til kongen av Israel, "Hva har jeg med deg å gjøre? Gå til din fars profeter og din mors profeter." Men kongen av Israel sa til ham: "Nei, for det er Herren som har kalt oss tre konger sammen for å overgi oss til Moab."

14 Elisja sa, "Så sant Herren, hærskarenes Gud, lever, som jeg tjener, hvis jeg ikke hadde respekt for Josjafat, kongen av Juda, ville jeg ikke se på deg eller legge merke til deg.

15 Men nå, hent meg en musiker." Og mens musikeren spilte, kom Herrens hånd over Elisja.
