2 Jeg vil rope til Gud, Den Høyeste,
Til Gud som fullfører sin hensikt for meg.

3 Han vil sende fra himmelen og frelse meg;
Han refser den som tråkker på meg.

Min sjel er blant løver;
Jeg må legge meg blant dem som fortærer,
Blant menneskesønner, hvis tenner er spyd og piler,
Og deres tunge er et skarpt sverd.

5 Bli opphøyd over himlene, Gud;
Må din herlighet være over hele jorden.

6 De har lagt en snare for mine skritt;
Min sjel er nedbøyd;
De gravde en grop foran meg;
De har selv falt i den.
