24 Så foraktet de det herlige landet;
de trodde ikke på hans ord,

25 men knurret i sine telt;
de hørte ikke på Herrens røst.

Da løftet han sin hånd mot dem
for å la dem falle i ørkenen,

27 og for å spre deres etterkommere blant folkene,
og spre dem i landene.

28 De sluttet seg også til Ba'al-Peor,
og åt offer til de døde.
