1 Tidlig om morgenen holdt overprestene, sammen med de eldste, de skriftlærde og hele Rådet, en konsultasjon. De bandt Jesus, førte Ham bort og overga Ham til Pilatus.

Pilatus spurte Ham: «Er du jødenes konge?» Jesus svarte: «Du sier det.»

3 Overprestene begynte å komme med mange anklager mot Ham.

4 Pilatus spurte Ham igjen: «Svarer du ikke? Se hvor mange anklager de fremsetter mot deg.»
