Josva 8,4

2 Du skal gjøre med Ai og dets konge som du gjorde med Jeriko og dets konge, men du kan ta byttet og buskapen for dere selv. Legg et bakhold bak byen."

3 Så sto Josva opp med hele krigsfolket for å dra opp til Ai. Han valgte ut tretti tusen tapre krigere og sendte dem ut om natten

med disse instruksene: "Se, dere skal legge et bakhold bak byen. Gå ikke langt fra den, men vær alle på vakt.

5 Jeg og alt folket med meg vil nærme oss byen, og når de kommer ut for å møte oss som før, vil vi flykte fra dem.

6 De vil forfølge oss til vi har lokket dem bort fra byen, for de vil si: 'De flykter for oss som før.' Så vi vil flykte for dem.
