6 Herren sa til Josva: «Vær ikke redd for dem, for på denne tid i morgen vil jeg overgi dem alle, drept, i Israels hender. Du skal kutte av hestens sener og brenne vognene deres med ild.»
7 Så kom Josva og alle hans krigere plutselig over dem ved Meroms vann og angrep dem.
Og Herren overga dem i Israels hender. De beseiret dem og forfulgte dem så langt som til Store Sidon, Misrefot-Majim, og Mizpes dal i øst, til det ikke var noen overlevende igjen.
9 Josva gjorde med dem som Herren hadde befalt: han kuttet av hestens sener og brente vognene deres med ild.
10 På den tiden vendte Josva tilbake og inntok Hasor, og slo kongen der med sverdet, for Hasor hadde vært hodet for alle disse rikene.
