1 Da Jabin, kongen av Hasor, hørte om dette, sendte han bud til Jobab, kongen av Madon, til kongen av Simron, og til kongen av Aksjaf,
2 og til de nordlige kongene i fjellandet, i Arabah sør for Kinneret, i lavlandet, og på høydene av Dor i vest;
til kanaaneerne i øst og vest, amorittene, hetittene, perisittene og jebusittene i fjellandet, og til hevittene nedenfor Hermon i landet Mispe.
4 De dro ut med alle sine hærer, så mange som sanden på havets strand, med et stort antall hester og vogner.
5 Alle disse kongene slo seg sammen og slo leir ved Meroms vann for å kjempe mot Israel.
