4 Da det begynte å lysne av dag, sto Jesus på stranden, men disiplene kjente ikke igjen at det var Jesus.

5 Jesus ropte til dem: «Barn, har dere noe fisk?» De svarte: «Nei.»

Han instruerte dem: «Kast garnet på høyre side av båten, så finner dere noe.» De kastet det, og klarte ikke å dra det inn på grunn av den store mengden fisk.

7 Da sa den disippelen som Jesus elsket til Peter: «Det er Herren!» Da Simon Peter hørte dette, tok han på seg ytterplagget (for han var avkledd for arbeid) og kastet seg i sjøen.

8 De andre disiplene fulgte i den lille båten, og dro garnet fullt av fisk, for de var ikke langt fra land, omtrent to hundre alen.
