Jeremia 38,27

Jeremiah

25 Hvis lederne hører at jeg har snakket med deg og kommer til deg og sier: 'Fortell oss hva du sa til kongen og hva kongen sa til deg; skjul det ikke for oss, ellers dreper vi deg,'

26 så si til dem: 'Jeg ba kongen om ikke å sende meg tilbake til Jonatans hus for å dø der.'"

Alle lederne kom til Jeremias og spurte ham, og han svarte dem i samsvar med alle disse ordene som kongen hadde befalt. Så sluttet de å snakke med ham, for ingen hadde overhørt samtalen.

28 Og Jeremias ble værende i vaktgården til den dagen Jerusalem ble inntatt.
