Da det ble bestemt at vi skulle seile til Italia, ble Paulus og noen andre fanger overgitt til en centurion ved navn Julius, som var en del av den augustanske kohorten.

2 Vi gikk ombord på et skip fra Adramyttium som skulle seile til havnene langs kysten av Asia, og vi satte til sjøs, ledsaget av Aristarkus, en makedoner fra Tessalonika.

3 Dagen etter ankom vi til Sidon; og Julius, som viste vennlighet mot Paulus, lot ham besøke sine venner for å få omsorg.
