13 Men da jødene i Tessalonika fikk vite at Paulus også forkynte Guds ord i Berøa, kom de dit også og oppviglet folkemengden.
14 De troende sendte straks Paulus til kysten, mens Silas og Timoteus ble igjen i Berøa.
De som fulgte Paulus, førte ham helt til Athen, og etter å ha mottatt instruksjoner om at Silas og Timoteus skulle komme til ham så snart som mulig, dro de av sted.
16 Mens Paulus ventet på dem i Athen, ble hans ånd opprørt i ham da han så at byen var full av avguder.
17 Så han samtalte i synagogen med jødene og gudfryktige grekere, og på torget hver dag med dem som tilfeldigvis var der.
