21 Derfor er det nødvendig å velge en av de menn som har vært med oss hele tiden Herren Jesus gikk inn og ut blant oss,

22 fra begynnelsen med Johannes' dåp til den dagen han ble tatt opp fra oss. For en av disse må bli et vitne sammen med oss om hans oppstandelse."

Så foreslo de to menn: Josef kalt Barsabbas (også kjent som Justus) og Mattias.

24 Så ba de, "Herre, du som kjenner alles hjerter, åpenbar for oss hvilken av disse to du har valgt

25 til å overta denne tjenesten og apostelembetet, som Judas forlot for å gå til sitt eget sted."
