¹ Jeg så en ny himmel og en ny jord, for den første himmel og den første jord var borte, og det var ikke mer hav.

² Jeg så den hellige byen, det nye Jerusalem, komme ned fra himmelen fra Gud, gjort i stand som en brud pyntet for sin mann.

Og jeg hørte en høy røst fra tronen si: "Se, Guds bolig er nå blant menneskene, og Han vil bo med dem. De skal være Hans folk, og Gud selv vil være med dem og være deres Gud.

⁴ Han vil tørke bort hver tåre fra deres øyne, og det skal ikke være mer død eller sorg eller gråt eller smerte, for de første ting er borte."

⁵ Han som satt på tronen sa: "Se, jeg gjør alle ting nye!" Så sa Han: "Skriv dette ned, for disse ord er troverdige og sanne."
