3 Så viste et annet tegn seg i himmelen: se, en stor rød drage med syv hoder og ti horn, og på hodene syv kroner.

4 Halen dens feide med seg en tredjedel av stjernene på himmelen og kastet dem ned på jorden. Dragen stod foran kvinnen som skulle føde, for å sluke barnet hennes så snart det var født.

Hun fødte et barn, en sønn, som skal styre alle nasjonene med en jernstav. Barnet hennes ble rykket opp til Gud og til hans trone.

6 Kvinnen flyktet ut i ødemarken til et sted som var forberedt for henne av Gud, hvor hun skulle bli næret i 1 260 dager.

7 Og det brøt ut krig i himmelen, Mikael og hans engler kjempet mot dragen, og dragen og dens engler kjempet tilbake.
