Ahimaaz

26 Da så vaktmannen en annen mann løpe, og vaktmannen ropte til portvakten og sa: "Se, en annen mann løper alene." Og kongen sa: "Han bringer også gode nyheter."

27 Vaktmannen sa: "Jeg tror den første løper som Ahimaas, Sadoks sønn." Og kongen sa: "Han er en god mann, og han kommer med gode nyheter."

Da ropte Ahimaas og sa til kongen: "Alt er vel." Og han kastet seg ned for kongen med ansiktet mot jorden og sa: "Velsignet være Herren din Gud, som har overgitt mennene som løftet sin hånd mot min herre kongen."

29 Kongen sa: "Er det vel med den unge mannen Absalom?" Og Ahimaas svarte: "Da Joab sendte kongens tjener, din tjener, så jeg en stor oppstandelse, men jeg visste ikke hva det var."

30 Kongen sa til ham: "Trå til side og vent her." Så trådte han til side og ventet.
