Da filisterne hadde tatt Guds ark, fraktet de den fra Eben-Eser til Asdod.

2 De bar arken inn i Dagons tempel og plasserte den ved siden av Dagon.

3 Da folket i Asdod sto opp tidlig neste dag, lå Dagon der, falt med ansiktet ned på bakken foran Herrens ark. De tok Dagon og satte ham tilbake på plass.
