Ur of the Chaldees
Covenant and promises

5 Han tok ham med utenfor og sa: «Se opp mot himmelen og tell stjernene, hvis du er i stand til å telle dem.» Så sa han til ham: «Så mange skal dine etterkommere være.»

6 Abram stolte på Herren, og det ble regnet ham til rettferdighet.

Og Han sa til ham: «Jeg er Herren, som førte deg ut fra Ur i Kaldea for å gi deg dette landet til eie.»

8 Men Abram sa: «Herre Gud, hvordan kan jeg vite at jeg skal eie det?»

9 Så sa Herren til ham: «Bring meg en tre år gammel kvige, en tre år gammel geit, en tre år gammel vær, en due og en ung due.»
