19 og gi min sønn Salomo et hengivent hjerte
til å holde Dine bud, Dine vitnesbyrd og Dine forskrifter,
og å utføre dem,
og å bygge tempelet, som jeg har sørget for.”

20 Så talte David til hele forsamlingen:
“Gi nå pris til Herren deres Gud.”
Og hele forsamlingen priste Herren, deres fedres Gud,
og bøyde seg ned og hyllet Herren og kongen.

Dagen etter ofret de til Herren,
og ofret brennoffer til Herren:
tusen okser, tusen værer og tusen lam,
med deres drikkoffer og ofre i overflod for hele Israel.

22 Så spiste og drakk de den dagen for Herrens åsyn med stor glede.
Og de gjorde Salomo, Davids sønn, til konge for andre gang,
og de salvet ham som hersker for Herren,
og Sadok som prest.

23 Da satt Salomo på Herrens trone som konge i stedet for sin far David;
og han var vellykket,
og hele Israel adlød ham.
