14 David spurte igjen Gud, og Gud sa til ham,
“Du skal ikke gå direkte opp etter dem;
gå rundt bak dem og kom mot dem foran baka-buskene.

15 Og det skal være, når du hører lyden av marsjering i toppen av baka-buskene,
da skal du gå ut til kamp,
for Gud vil ha gått ut foran deg for å slå filisternes hær.”

David gjorde akkurat som Gud hadde befalt ham,
og de slo filisternes hær fra Gibeon helt til Gezer.

17 Davids ry spredte seg over alle landene;
og Herren innpodet en ærefrykt for ham blant alle nasjonene.
