2. Krønikebok 32,5

3 besluttet han sammen med sine offiserer og sine krigere å stenge vannforsyningen fra kildene som var utenfor byen, og de hjalp ham.

4 Derfor samlet en stor forsamling seg og stengte alle kildene og bekken som rant gjennom landet, og sa, "Hvorfor skulle kongene av Assyria komme og finne en overflod av vann?"

Og han tok mot til seg og gjenoppbygde hele muren som var blitt revet ned, og reiste tårn på den, og bygde en annen ytre mur og styrket Millo i Davids by, og laget våpen og skjold i stort antall.

6 Hiskia utnevnte militære offiserer over folket, samlet dem til seg på torget ved byporten, og talte til dem med oppmuntring, og sa,

7 "Vær sterke og modige. Vær ikke redde eller motløse på grunn av kongen av Assyria eller på grunn av hele den mengden som er med ham; for den som er med oss er større enn den som er med ham.
