1 Videre satte David og hærens ledere til tjeneste noen av sønnene til Asaf, Heman og Jedutun,
som skulle profetere med lyrer, harper og cymbaler;
og antallet av dem som utførte sin tjeneste var:

2 Av Asafs sønner: Sakkur, Josef, Netanja og Asarela;
disse sønnene ble veiledet av Asaf,
som profeterte under kongens veiledning.

Av Jedutun: sønnene til Jedutun var Gedalja, Seri, Jesaja, Sjimi, Hasjabja og Mattitja—seks,
under ledelse av deres far Jedutun med harpen,
som profeterte ved å takke og prise Herren.

4 Av Heman: sønnene til Heman var Bukkia, Mattanja, Ussiel, Sjebuel, Jerimot, Hananja, Hanani, Eliata,
Giddalti, Romamti-Eser, Josjbekasja, Malloti, Hotir og Mahasiot.

5 Alle disse var sønnene til Heman, kongens seer,
for å ære ham i henhold til Guds ord;
for Gud ga Heman fjorten sønner og tre døtre.
