Nehemja 8,7
5 Esra åpnet boken i alles påsyn, for han var over dem; og da han åpnet den, reiste hele folket seg.
6 Esra priste Herren, den store Gud, og hele folket svarte: "Amen, Amen!" mens de løftet hendene. Så bøyde de seg ned og tilba Herren med ansiktene mot jorden.
Levittene—Jesjua, Bani, Serebja, Jamin, Akkub, Sjabbetai, Hodia, Ma’aseja, Kelita, Asarja, Josabad, Hanan og Pelaja—forklarte loven for folket mens de stod på sine plasser.
8 De leste fra Guds lovbok, gjorde den tydelig og ga meningen slik at folket forstod det som ble lest.
9 Da sa Nehemja, stattholderen, Esra, presten og den skriftlærde, og levittene som underviste folket til dem alle: "Denne dagen er hellig for Herren deres Gud. Sørg ikke og gråt ikke." For hele folket gråt da de hørte lovens ord.
